Course Details

(1) Course Introduction

Based on YCT syllabus, the teaching content is reasonably arranged in a manner where characteristics of children's psychological development and learning abilities are taken into consideration. The course content is lively, interesting and easy to understand.

Chinesebon - Chinese Course for Primary School fits smoothly into Pakistan’s education system, and is provided in five stages. Each stage will be accomplished in one year, and all courses will be completed during five years of primary school. The topics cover different aspects including daily life, nature, society, etc.

After completing the Chinesebon - Chinese Course for Primary School, the learner can easily attempt advanced YCT level and can match-up with HSK requirements, laying a solid foundation for higher grade and level examination.


(2) Teaching Goals

Grade 1

Master 80 first-level words and first-level language functions including a study of spellings and 20 sentence patterns on simple topics such as self-introduction, polite language, questioning, asking for directions, etc. Comprehend and use the most commonly used Chinese words and sentences and gain the ability to learn Chinese further. Appropriately expand cultural content and properly compare Chinese and Pakistani cultures.

Grade 2

Master 125 second-level words and second-level language functions including listening to 40 sentence patterns which will help in understanding instructions, talking about hobbies, asking others’ age and to ask quantity, etc. Understand and use daily expressions to express own needs, wishes and feelings, to inquire about time and place and to talk about own hobbies, etc. Appropriately expand cultural content and properly compare Chinese and Pakistani cultures.

Grade 3

Master 350 third-level words and third-level language function including courses that help in communicating on time, place, occupation, experience, hospitalization and seasons, etc. Communicate in a simple and direct way on familiar daily topics in Chinese and reach proficiency levels in elementary Chinese. Appropriately expand cultural content and properly compare Chinese and Pakistani cultures.

Grade 4

Master 780 fourth-level words and fourth-level language function including grade-based courses with 40 articles such as stories and fairytales. Complete basic communication tasks in life and study in Chinese, and handle most situations requiring communication when travelling in China. Appropriately expand cultural content and properly compare Chinese and Pakistani cultures.

Grade 5

Master 960 new words; study courses with 40 articles on Chinese culture and ancient stories, study applied composition, etc.; focus mainly on discourse-based teaching and smoothly match-up with HSK test requirements.

A total of 10 textbooks and 10 exercise books for 5 years of primary school.


(5) Test Evaluation

Each lesson will provide students with a variety of exercises to further enhance the teaching content; monthly tests will be conducted to evaluate staged learning and teaching results; interim and final exams will be conducted with evaluation methods consistent with local school evaluation methods.
